“A Ramdom Act?”
Changes Hearts Forever!
Several years ago a Professor was listening to the nightly news report when he heard the phrase: “Another act of random violence” hit the Bakersfield campus for the umpteenth time. The next day he assigned his human relations class an essay on: “Today I will commit one act of senseless kindness … will you?”
Later he developed a bumper sticker and the movement was on. Many of you have heard this simple idea preached over and over. The professor who started the ball rolling said: “I had no idea that this idea would erupt the way it has.”
As Christians, our actions are not supposed to be random and they are really not supposed to be an act of any kind. The Bible teaches us that we are supposed to make “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” God's kingdom is love, respect, honor and peace.
Our goal is that the kindness of God should not be random, but the absolute norm. It should begin in the church. Make the summer of 2010 the year of God's kingdom where you are.
Ask God to help you find the area that you’re best called to start. The fact is that when you follow the call of Christ to love, it will bring a greater joy than you have ever had.
